How does bank syncing work?
We connect to your bank through Plaid, the secure service thousands of finance apps use. We get read-only data — balances and transactions — to power your budgets and insights. We never see your bank login, and Money Moonshot cannot move your money.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Sensitive details (account names, amounts, balances) are encrypted at rest, every request is over HTTPS, and each account's data is fully isolated from other users. You can also turn on two-factor authentication under Security above.
How do I disconnect a bank?
Go to Settings → Financial institutions, find the bank, and tap Disconnect. That immediately removes its accounts and transactions from Money Moonshot and revokes access at your bank. Your budgets and goals are kept.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete my account, then confirm with Permanently delete. We revoke our access at your bank first, then remove all of your data — transactions, budgets, goals, debts, and bank connections — from the live app right away. It can't be undone. One thing we would rather you heard from us: our nightly encrypted backups can still hold a copy for up to 15 days before they are purged. Detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is Money Moonshot free?
Budgeting, net-worth tracking, Autopilot guidance, the debts and goals you enter yourself, and exporting all of your data are free, and always will be. Connecting a bank or card needs Premium — every connection costs us a recurring fee. There is no way to type a transaction in by hand: transactions come from a connected institution, so on the free plan the app has no transactions to show.
New accounts get a 30-day free trial of Premium with no card required. It does not turn into a paid subscription on its own, and nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe. When the trial ends your data stays and the free features keep working.
Premium bought in the app is charged to your Apple or Google account and renews automatically until you cancel, which you do in your device’s subscription settings — deleting the app does not cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access to the end of the period you paid for. We give at least 30 days’ notice before any price change. Full details are in the Terms of Service.

Our promise: we do not sell your data. We have never sold, rented, or traded your personal or financial information, and we never will. No ads, no data brokers.
What we collect. Your account details (email, optional display name), and — only if you connect a bank through Plaid — your balances, transactions, and liabilities. Solely to power your budgeting, savings, debt, and Autopilot features.
How it's protected. Sensitive financial fields are individually encrypted at rest, bank tokens are encrypted, passwords and session tokens are stored only as hashes, traffic is HTTPS, and you can enable two-factor authentication. We never see your bank login — Plaid handles that.
AI features are optional. If you use them, the information that feature needs is sent to Google Gemini for processing — never your bank credentials. Don't use them, and nothing is sent.
Your control. Edit your profile any time; deleting your account permanently erases all your data.
